Press release Jens Böhnlein to leave Commerz Real

After six years at Commerz Real Jens Böhnlein is leaving the real assets subsidiary of Com-merzbank as of 30 September 2024 to take up a new challenge. As the company announced, his most recent position is Global Head of Asset Management and Sustainability, which he has held since 2021, and thus he has been responsible for the some 200 properties managed through a varie-ty of products. His tasks are being assumed on a provisional basis by Henning Koch, the chairman of the management of Commerz Real.
As an influential and creative personality Jens has put together an outstanding team and significantly advanced both our asset management and the focus of our business on the topic of sustainability. I wish him all the very best and look back extremely positively on the collective challenges and successes.
Jens Böhnlein came to Commerz Real in 2018, initially as Global Head of Office. Among his tasks was the integration of the Millennium portfolio following its acquisition in 2019; this portfolio encom-passed approx. 352,000 square metres of leasable space and 49 properties. Moreover, during the coronavirus pandemic he succeeded in ensuring the stability and resilience of the real estate portfo-lio thanks to interaction with the tenants in a spirit of close partnership.
Not to be underestimated is the fact that Jens has made a name for himself as a brand ambassador for Commerz Real throughout the industry and beyond, and at the same time made a significant contribution to our level of awareness.
Thus, Jens Böhnlein has been the Chairman of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in Germany since 2023 and a member of the European Board of this leading industry federation.
