Sebastian Flick has assumed the function as Global Head of CFB Funds, Structured Finance and Investments at Commerz Real as of 1 December 2024. The real assets subsidiary of Commerzbank bundles its closed-end funds for private investors in this division, as well as various financing products, ranging from real estate leasing financing, through operator and leasing models, to participation models. Flick is succeeding Martin Suchsland, who retired in the autumn of 2024 after a career spanning 30 years at Commerz Real.

Flick has many years of experience in equity investment management and in the management of investment portfolios for institutional investors. Before joining Commerz Real the graduate economist had worked for ARAG SE since 2012. There he was ultimately employed as Departmental Head Alternative Investments & Real Estate with responsibility for shareholdings in the infrastructure, real estate and private equity asset classes. Prior to this he had worked for Talanx Asset Management, HSBC Trinkaus and the Cologne savings bank Kreissparkasse Köln.

At Commerz Real he will be responsible for the management of a portfolio with a volume of around seven billion euros for 70,000 investors. This portfolio encompasses ships, an airplane, as well as solar parks and wind farms.
