Klimavest is the first open-ended fund through which private investors in Germany can invest in the power grid and its expansion, which is so crucial for the implementation of the energy transition.

The balance sheet total of Amprion GmbH was around 17.6 billion euros at the end of 2024, with an operating profit before interest and taxes (EBIT) of around 1.2 billion euros.

With the stake Klimavest aims to invest long-term in the expansion and modernization of power grids in Germany, expanding its existing portfolio of wind and solar parks to include the grid infra-structure asset class.

Grid expansion is a key element for the successful implementation of the energy transition and will be massively advanced in the coming years,” explains Michael Henn, Global Head of Green Deal Infrastructure at Commerz Real. “Billions of euros in investment are needed for this.
