High-rise buildings with apartments in the premium price segment are increasingly shaping the cityscape of the metropolises. And many people, namely 44 percent, can imagine living in such a high-rise residential building - regardless of their current financial situation - in principle or under certain conditions. This was the result of a recent representative survey conducted by the opinion research institute Yougov on behalf of Commerz Real among 2,124 people in Germany.
Cutting is the key
When asked which criteria are particularly important for buying a premium apartment in a mixed-use high-rise building, two thirds stated the size of the apartment. For 62 percent, the location in the inner city with gastronomy, retail and culture was particularly relevant. At the third place, sustainability stands at 50 percent and a beautiful view from the balcony at 48 percent. This was followed by in-house services (34 percent) and architectural quality that makes the building special (26 percent).
Willing to pay more for sustainability
When it comes to new residential construction - regardless of premium - 20 percent of those surveyed are willing to pay a higher purchase price for particularly sustainable properties with high energy efficiency, high-quality materials and attractive architecture. And 34 percent expect the value of such a home to develop better. A particularly sustainable home like this is preferable to the same percentage. 25 percent, on the other hand, say that sustainability is not particularly important to them. Other criteria such as position, cut or size were more important to them.
