Commerz Real has acquired a ready-to-build solar park in eastern France for its klimaVest fund. The Amance photovoltaic power plant is located in the Aube department, near the city of Troyes. It will cover 42 hectares and have a rated output of 47 megawatts peak. Construction has already begun, and completion and commissioning are planned for September. The seller is the renewable energy company BayWa r.e., which implements the solar park and then provides technical and commercial support. In operation, the solar park is expected to cover the average energy consumption of around 11,000 French households. With the acquisition, klimaVest is further diversifying its tangible asset portfolio of renewable energies in Europe.

France is an attractive investment location for solar and wind projects due to its economic and political framework conditions. With BayWa r.e., we have an experienced partner at our side with whom we have already been able to work successfully in the past.

The electricity produced is to be marketed via the fixed state feed-in tariff in combination with a long-term electricity supply contract for a large commercial customer.

With the launch of klimaVest in 2020, Commerz Real is one of the pioneers in open renewable energy infrastructure funds for private investors. klimaVest currently has assets under management totalling 1.5 billion euros and enables private investors to invest in the necessary transformation of the European economy with real renewable energy projects. The portfolio comprises more than 40 wind power and photovoltaic investments in six countries.
