Commerz Real has successfully commissioned the Amance solar park in eastern France for its klimaVest fund. The construction of the photovoltaic power plant in the Aube department near the city of Troyes was completed as planned in September and the solar park is now feeding electricity from solar energy into the French grid. The 47-megawatt peak plant covers an area of 42 hectares and can cover the average energy consumption of around 11,000 French households.1

klimaVest acquired the photovoltaic park in March 2025 as a ready-to-build project from the renewable energy company BayWa r.e. France SAS, a subsidiary of BayWa AG. The timely commissioning underlines the successful cooperation between Commerz Real and the experienced project developer, who is also responsible for the technical and commercial management of the park. In the coming weeks, BayWa r.e. France will now carry out extensive test runs to ensure optimal coordination of all components and thus guarantee the best possible power yield.

The planned commissioning of the Amance solar park confirms our strategy of investing in mature projects with reliable partners. France stands out as a proven market for renewable energy investments with attractive framework conditions.

The photovoltaic park will also serve as a pasture for a local sheep breeder. Even before construction, a corresponding seed was planted in consultation with the grower and an agricultural expert from Baywa r.e. and the shadow casting of the first modules set up allowed a saturated pasture to thrive in the summer months, which could not survive under the open sun at this time of year. Commerz Real and Baywa r.e. also provide the sheep breeder with cattle drinking troughs, fences and vehicles to manage the area. In return, the breeder and his sheep herd take over the green care of the plantation.
