klimaVest is a “European Long-Term Investment Fund” (ELTIF) and aims to build up a broad portfolio of investments for the generation of renewable energies as well as from sustainable infrastructure. In the medium term, the open-ended fund is expected to reach a volume of ten billion euros. klimaVest invests in tangible assets that make a demonstrable contribution to avoiding greenhouse gas emissions. In doing so, the Fund takes into account the sustainability parameters in accordance with the applicable EU Taxonomy Regulation and the transparency requirements for an impact fund in accordance with the EU Disclosure Regulation. The fund management aims to achieve a return (using the BVI method) of between 3.5% and 4.5% for the calendar year 2023. Investors can participate from 10,000 euros and receive regular reports on the climate impact achieved by the assets in the fund in addition to their performance. An investment horizon of at least five years is recommended. Units in the open-end fund can be redeemed on any trading day at the net asset value. In the past fund financial year 2021/2022, the existing plants generated a total of 661 gigawatt hours of green electricity. According to data from the Federal Statistical Office, this quantity corresponds to the electricity requirements of more than 200,000 German households.
