On 29 August 2024, the stars danced over Frankfurt Samba and celebrated with us and our partners i Live, Rioca and Sabor and many other guests the opening of Germany’s largest micro-living facility. The “i Live Campus Living Frankfurt” from our two Institutional Smart Living Funds and Smart Living Europe Funds is now opening its doors to international students and young professionals. The complex comprises around 1,150 apartments and is located in the direct vicinity of the internationally renowned Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

With Brazilian flair, thanks to samba icon Diogo Nogueira and band, the invited guests, partners and first new residents of the main metropolis celebrated the opening of the “i Live Campus Living Frankfurt”. A touch of Rio was also felt when the shimmering entertainer of the Brazilian carnival and representative of the mayor of Rio de Janeiro Milton Cunha made his greetings. Further speeches by Dr. Nicole Arnold, Member of the Management Board of Commerz Real, Amos Engelhardt, and Prof. Dr. Nils Stieglitz rounded off the opening. The celebration marks the successful completion of the largest micro-living project in Germany, an absolute pioneering project.

Together with the i Live Group, a specialist for serviced apartments and micro-living properties, the i Live Campus Living Frankfurt is one of the city’s largest residential developments. The operator’s concept includes the affiliated hotel of the Brazilian hotel chain Rioca, which integrates a South American sense of life into the quality of stay of the properties with its own design language, among other things.

In addition to the size of the apartment complex with 1,158 apartments, the i-Live Campus Frankfurt is characterised above all by its central location along the campus mile as a new home for students from all Frankfurt universities. Thanks to funding from the City of Frankfurt and the initiative of the investors, the project also offers funded housing, which strengthens the educational and economic location of Frankfurt.

We are pleased to have realised our investment in Live Campus Frankfurt at this location. The campus mile, whose initiators also include the Frankfurt School, is the link between Goethe University, Frankfurt School, the National Library and the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. We are delighted to be a partner in this visionary pioneering project for student housing.
Dr. Nicole Arnold
Managing Director Commerz Real

With the urgently needed housing in a tense market situation, the project aims to create student apartments that remain affordable. All of this together makes this investment not only profitable, but also socially valuable.
