Commerz Real and project developer Helios Nordic Energy have opened the King’s Roar solar park in central Västerås, Sweden. With 32,500 solar panels, the power plant has a rated output of 22 megawatts peak and covers the calculated annual electricity demand of around 2,500 Swedish households. The opening ceremony on the 25-hectare site was also attended by the Swedish Environment Minister Romina Pourmokhtari as a greeting speaker.

Commerzbank’s asset management subsidiary acquired the solar park in May 2022 when it was ready for construction for its “Commerz Real Institutional Renewable Energies Fund II”.
In total, Commerz Real manages more than 50 solar power plants and over 40 onshore and offshore wind farms with a rated output of around 1.5 gigawatts for its investors in Germany and Europe. Your private investor fund “Klimavest” has equity of more than 1.2 billion euros. Commerz Real is also planning to acquire solar and wind farms for its open-ended real estate fund “Hausinvest” from 2024.
