- Online participation by 18 September and dialogue event on 11 September
- First project under the new high-rise development plan
Commerz Real and Tishman Speyer are starting public participation in the planned new high-rise building at the historic Kaiser-Karree in the Frankfurt banking district. The new building on the complex between Kaiserstraße 28 and Neue Mainzer Straße 31 is the first to be developed as part of the new Frankfurt high-rise development plan. It stipulates that the public in Frankfurt must be involved in project planning at an early stage.
Until 18 September 2024, all interested citizens can now express their opinions and ideas online at www.kaiser-karree.de. In addition, a dialogue event will take place on Wednesday 11 September 2024 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Kaiserstraße 30 building, where interested parties can find out about the plans and actively contribute to them. Planners, experts and representatives of the City of Frankfurt are available to answer any questions.
The currently existing complex comprises around 8,000 square metres of rental space and was used by Commerzbank until the end of 2022. Currently, the areas are subject to the so-called
pop-up creative project “Neue Kaiser” with the participation of the Frankfurt Opera, the “Frankfurter Neue Küche” and other protagonists for cultural offers, events and gastronomy and thus made available to the public.
For the further development of the area, Commerz Real, the asset and investment managers of Commerzbank, and project developer and investment manager Tishman Speyer have entered into a joint venture. The current plans include the construction of a 195-metre-high high-rise building that carefully integrates the listed existing buildings. The gross floor area - estimated on the basis of initial fictitious designs - could be around 66,300 square metres. An architectural competition is to be held in 2024 as the starting point for the planned development plan procedure
