High-rise buildings with apartments in the premium price segment are increasingly shaping the cityscape of metropolises. And many people, namely 44 per cent, can imagine living in such a high-rise building, in principle or under certain conditions, regardless of their current financial situation. This was the result of a recent representative survey conducted by the opinion research institute Yougov on behalf of Commerz Real among 2,124 people in Germany.
Cutting determines
When asked which criteria are particularly important for buying a premium apartment in a mixed-use high-rise, two thirds named the cut-out of the apartment. For 62 percent, the location in the city centre with gastronomy, retail and culture is particularly relevant. At 50 percent, sustainability comes in third, and at 48 percent, a beautiful view from the balcony. This was followed by in-house services (34 percent) and an architectural quality that makes the building something special (26 percent).
Ready to pay more for sustainability
When building new apartments - regardless of premium - 20 percent of respondents are willing to pay a higher purchase price for particularly sustainable properties with high energy efficiency, high-quality materials and attractive architecture. And 34 percent expect the value of such a home to develop better. The same percentage prefers such a particularly sustainable home. On the other hand, 25 percent say that sustainability is not particularly important to them. Other criteria such as location, cut or size are more important to them.
